Welcome to an online exhibition of Rifaa Tajani's Senior Capstone project as a part of the Global Studies Academy at Travis High School. Capstone, a year long independent study, enables students to deep dive into their own passions and develop their skills to ultimately educate and better the community amongst which they live. As you explore the various aspects of this Capstone - Mentorship, Research, and Community Engagement - we hope you develop a better understanding of the power of art as a means of positive change and building bridges between communities across the globe.
ABOUT MY PROJECT
Art & Design Meet Pluralism & Innovation
Pluralism & Positive Change is my Senior Capstone project, which highlights how the way we shape our societies can deeply impact us and the quality of our lives. The three aspects of Pluralism & Positive Change include Community Building & Engagement, Combating Global Issues, and Calling Attention to a Cause through Architecture and Design. Each subtopic dives into the works of renowned and innovative artists, architects, and urban planners who are actively working to better our societies through the creation of meaningful spaces. After the completion of the final research paper, I applied and shared my knowledge through my Spring Action Project, which involved engaging the community at all levels.
